Gobions Workparty Sunday 9th & 16th October 2005

When we lost a favourite beech tree, we got a contractor in to cut a path through the fallen trunk. However this was not wide enough to admit the dumper truck. So this was a good time to cut a slice off the trunk to allow it through. Oh - yes; the "slice" weighs about 1 ton. If anyone wants some offcuts, please feel free.

Meanwhile, the other team members were clearing the paths ready for winter.

Gobions Workparty Sunday 2 October 2005

Finally we got the fields free from ragwort and the sheep have been installed. this will avoid us having to pay to get the fields cut, and will not only have a more natural method of keeping the fields "cut", but will actually level out the dips and bumps! Apparently this is a side benefit of having sheep in the field - they are great levellers.
